Temple played so many people around the football it was tough to run it. He?s not quite as fast as those kids are, but he?s still a pretty good football player. I thought that Upton did a pretty good job when he was in there too. I?d like to look at the tape of the game and some things like that. You go in and tell him to try and do something and he tries it once and he has a good feel for it.?ĭid Austin Scott show enough where you might want to make him your feature tailback? But in addition to that, he?s going out on some tailback plays, he?s running a lot of other things, he?s running back punts and if he wasn?t as strong of an athlete as he is, he probably couldn?t do it all. He gets as many snaps as Mills does at quarterback in practice, because he?s your second quarterback. The problem with Robinson is that he?s got to practice at quarterback. Is it fun to try and doing different things with Michael Robinson- to keep trying to do different ways to use him? Overall it was a very well-played game, we threw the one interception and I think that was the only turnover on both sides.? They had only maybe one or two penalties. I don?t think we got a turnover from them, did we? I don?t think we had one turnover. You?re not quite sure who?s in the game all the time as far as their people. We?re calling signals from the sideline, you gotta do it a little quicker than ordinarily you would. Your kids have got to know where to line up. Outside of that fake punt, which setup their one touchdown, they didn?t have many big plays. I thought Tommy (Bradley) and the defensive staff did a really good job. ?It creates a pace to the game which makes it a little bit more difficult to make situation substitutions. I thought they did well.?Ībout the effectiveness of Temples? no-huddle offense: There was a couple of days at practice they didn?t do that. ?I think they both handled themselves well, they both hung on to the ball. On the performance of the two freshmen, Austin Scott and Tony Hunt? What?d you think of their performance tonight? I?m just glad we were able to get some of those kids in there. Temple?s a good, solid team, well-coached do a lot of good things on both sides of the football. I think we were fortunate we got a lot of them in, a couple we didn?t get in that I would like to have gotten in the football game, We weren?t great, but it was a good first game. They gotta get in sooner or later A lot of our kids played in that game that have never been in a game before., In fact, we went out to Toftrees last night, took 65 kids out there and 28 kids had never been there before the night before with the team. We had planned to play them, we had no idea how much. ?We wanted to play some of these kids to get them in a game. On getting some of the new players their first playing opportunities?
